SUBJ/FY-16 NAVY LEAGUE SECRETARY GORDON R. ENGLAND SAFETY AWARDS//

RMKS/1.  It is my pleasure to announce the recipients of the Fiscal Year 2016 
Navy League of the United States Secretary Gordon R. England Safety Awards.  
Congratulations to the following winners:

    a.  United States Navy:
        (1) Individual:  Ms. Alice Fallon
        (2) Individual:  Mr. Brian Fazio
        (3) Unit:  Naval Diving and Salvage Training Center
    b.  United States Marine Corps:
        (1) Individual:  Mr. Christopher R. Acord
        (2) Unit:  Marine Corps Air Station Camp Pendleton

2.  These annual Navy League awards recognize individuals and units that 
foster world class safety throughout the Department of the Navy (DON) through 
ideas and programs that reduce avoidable injuries and fatalities.  Recipients 
were chosen from a stellar group of highly competitive nominees.  I commend 
them for their exceptional commitment to safety excellence and for their 
passion in making risk reduction an inherent part of the DON culture.  Their 
actions undoubtedly preserved resources, prevented injuries, and saved lives.

3.  The awards will be presented at the Navy Leagues annual Sea-Air-Space 
exposition during the Secretary of the Navy luncheon on 5 April 2017.  The 
exposition will be held at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center, 
National Harbor, MD.
