Happy Holidays! Wherever you are supporting the Department of the Navy, our hope is that each of you take time to enjoy this season with family and friends and also reflect, refresh, and prepare for the New Year ahead. 2. While 2020 has been a difficult year in many respects, the Navy and Marine Corps team has shown strength, grit, and determination. We have operated forward, met our operational commitments, and fostered programs that improve the lives of our Sailors, Marines, families, and international allies and partners. We should all be proud of our accomplishments and our resilience! 3. As we approach the holiday season, not only is it important to be proud of all of our achievements, but we should also be alert and cognizant of the potential risks and challenges around us. The stress of balancing financial and family commitments without overextending your time and resources is only exacerbated by the impacts of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), which unfortunately remains part of our daily lives. Navigating this season safely will require a team effort to comply with the latest Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Force Health Protection COVID-19 guidelines, monitor international, federal, and state regulations, and plan ahead to ensure that your and your family's safety is not compromised. 4. As we ring in a New Year, please consider helping those in need and remember our teammates who are forward deployed and separated from their loved ones at home. Those Sailors and Marines who are in harm's way right now are the reason we are able to gather this holiday season to celebrate responsibly with our family and friends here at home. 5. Enjoy the holidays, be safe and thank you for your service and commitment to our Navy and Marine Corps team! 6. Released by the Honorable Kenneth J. Braithwaite, Secretary of the Navy, Admiral Michael M. Gilday, Chief of Naval Operations, and General David H. Berger, Commandant of the Marine Corps.// BT #0001 NNNN UNCLASSIFIED//
