On 1 June 2021, the U.S. Department of Agriculture virtually kicked off the Annual Feds Feed Families (FFF) Food Drive, requesting support from federal employees to donate non-perishable food items to those in need. The Department of Defense (DoD) is again participating in this year's campaign and is soliciting our support. The Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Manpower and Reserve Affairs is managing the drive for the DoD. 2. Due to COVID-19, this year's 2021 FFF will be carried out virtually in communities where social distancing is in place. This includes greater emphasis promoting online donations and virtual food drives, while also providing guidance for in-person donations and events as appropriate. Federal employees can go to the website: https://fedsfeedfamilies.ocio.usda.gov find out how and where to donate online or in-person at food banks or food pantries, and how to organize virtual food-drives. 3. In 2020, the DoD donated 7.2 million pounds of non-perishable food of which the Navy and Marine Corps team contributed over 71,209 pounds. This was a tremendous achievement by all to help feed individuals in our communities. 4. The food drive runs through 31 August 2021.
