On 1 June 2022, the U.S. Department of Agriculture kicked off its thirteenth Annual Feds Feed Families (FFF) Food Drive, requesting support from federal employees to donate non-perishable food items, services, or time, to food banks and pantries in order to alleviate food insecurities in our communities. The Department of Defense (DoD) is again participating in this year's campaign and is soliciting our support. The Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Manpower and Reserve Affairs is managing the drive for the DoD. 2. In 2021, the DoD contributed over 3.7 million pounds of non-perishable food of which the Navy and Marine Corps team contributed over 177,582 pounds. This was a tremendous achievement by all to help feed individuals in our communities. This year's 2022 FFF Campaign highlights "a summer of giving" for the DoD from June through August. 3. Due to COVID-19, this year's 2022 FFF Campaign will be carried out virtually in communities where social distancing is in place. This includes greater emphasis promoting online donations and virtual food drives, while also providing guidance for in-person donations and events as appropriate. The food drive runs through 31 August 2022. I encourage our bases, stations, and installations to participate and support the FFF Food Drive again this year. 4. To learn more on how and where to give donations, organize food drives, and other useful resources, federal employees can go to the website: https://fedsfeedfamilies.ocio.usda.gov/ or your respective installation's Chaplain office who will provide reporting procedures and guidance. Participating commands should coordinate their efforts with the nearest installation Chaplain. Commands that do not have access to an installation Chaplain can submit weekly reports to the Department of the Navy FFF Champion, Ms. Lisa Brookes at: lisa.f.brookes.civ@us.navy.mil or (703) 695- 0541. 5.
