RMKS/1.  This ALNAV announces the call for nominations for the annual Spirit
of Hope (SOH) Award.  The Navy and Marine Corps nomination packages are due
on 28 April 2023.

2.  This award is presented to individuals and organizations that embody the
core values of Mr. Bob Hope, who gave generously to American Service Members
for five decades.  Each year, the Military Services, the U.S. Coast Guard,
and the Office of the Secretary of Defense come together to celebrate Mr.
Hope's legacy and to present this distinguished honor to deserving
recipients.

3.  The Department of the Navy (DON) may send forward two recipients - a
Navy recipient and a U.S. Marine Corps recipient.  The deadline for DON
submission of approved recipient packages is close of business Friday, 28
April 2023.

4.  The command submitting the nomination of the awardee will pay for travel
and per diem to the award ceremony, tentatively scheduled for 14 September
2023.  Commands of the awardees must provide General Officer/Flag Officer
endorsement.

5.  The Services will promulgate additional information as required.
