This ALNAV announces the call for nominations for the annual Spirit of Hope (SOH) Award. The SOH Award is presented to individuals and organizations that embody the core values of Mr. Bob Hope, who gave generously to American Service Members for five decades. Each year, the military departments, the U.S. Coast Guard, and the Office of the Secretary of Defense come together to celebrate Mr. Hope's legacy and to present this distinguished honor to deserving recipients. 2. The Department of the Navy (DON) may send forward two recipients: a Navy recipient and a U.S. Marine Corps recipient. The deadline for DON submission of approved recipient packages is close of business on Monday, 22 April 2024. 3. The command submitting the nomination of the awardee will pay for travel and per diem to the awards ceremony, tentatively scheduled for 19 September 2024. Commands of the awardees must provide general officer/flag officer command endorsement to the Director, Navy Staff or the Director, Marine Corps Staff for service processing. 4.
