RMKS/1.  I am pleased to announce the selection of
SW1(ECW) Brenton W. Heisserer as the 2014 Navy Shore Sailor of the Year.

2.  Petty Officer Heisserer was nominated by Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet 
and was selected from a field of five outstanding finalists representing some 
of the finest Petty Officers serving ashore.  Congratulations to him and the 
other finalists:
    a.  AWV1(NAC/AW) William R. Ballard, representing U.S. Fleet Forces 
Command
    b.  IS1(IDW/SW/AW) Johnetta L. Heckard, representing Manpower, Personnel,
        Training and Education
    c.  HM1(FMF/SW/AW) Jason Hildreth, representing Naval Shore Activities
    d.  YN1(SW) Holly L. Parimore, representing U.S. Naval Forces Europe-
Africa

3.  The competition was robust and reflected the high caliber of Sailors 
serving ashore throughout the world.  Each of the finalists represented their 
commands and the entire Enlisted community with distinction.

4.  Petty Officer Heisserer will be meritoriously advanced to Chief Petty 
Officer in May 2015.
