Eligibility, obligated service requirements, subspecialty utilization tour, and authorized program benefits are prescribed in reference (a). GEV funding is authorized for off-duty study in masters degree programs which meet the requirements of at least one approved Navy subspecialty code as verified by Naval Postgraduate School. For FY-17, 80 GEV quotas for select unrestricted line officers are planned, subject to funding availability, and all quotas must be allocated by 11 August 2017. a.
