RMKS/1.  Reference (a) created an Additional Qualification Designator (AQD) 
to identify officers who have screened and been selected for major 
command.  The goal of establishing this AQD is to easily identify officers, 
regardless of designator, who have been selected for major command. 
 
2.  AQD awarding criteria is as follows: 
    a.  Earned the 2D1 AQD, 
    b.  earned the 2D2 AQD, and 
    c.  screened and selected by a Major Command Screen Board. 
 
3.  All Navy Captains who have screened and selected for major command should 
verify their record to ensure they have been awarded the 2D4 AQD.  Any 
officer meeting the eligibility criteria for the 2D4 AQD who does not see it 
reflected in their record should contact their detailer.
