THIS MESSAGE TARGETS PERSONNEL, ADMINISTRATIVE, DISBURSING, AND PASS OFFICES 
REGARDING CURRENT PAY/PERSONNEL ISSUES FOR BOTH ACTIVE AND RESERVE PERSONNEL. 

2. ISSUE 210701: NAVY MUTUAL AID ALLOTMENTS.  The Navy Mutual Aid Association has 
advised DFAS that members are submitting allotment action requests to start a new allotment
or requests to stop or change the amount of an existing allotment directly to Navy Mutual Aid 
Association for action.  This is causing members’ policies to lapsed or have delayed payments 
posting to their accounts.

3.  ISSUE 210702.  REQUESTED ACTION.  Navy members who wish to start, stop or change 
their Navy Mutual Aid allotments (M allotments) to the Navy Mutual Aid Association should 
perform these functions either via the MyPay website, or submit appropriate allotment action 
requests to their supporting Personnel Support Detachment (PSD’s) or Personnel Office for 
commands not supported by a PSD.  All members who have policies with Navy Mutual Aid are 
advised to not submit allotment action requests to Navy Mutual Aid for any action against 
effecting their pay accounts.  This advised action will preclude lapsed policies and coverage.
