Fleet and Family Support

NAVY FAMILY READINESS PROGRAM

Family readiness is a key element of overall mission readiness and essential for families to meet the obligations and challenges of Navy life. Family readiness affects job satisfaction, job performance, and personnel retention. The primary goal of the command family readiness program is to support total force mission readiness by establishing baseline standards for the provision of coordinated Navy-wide, local and command-level support services, outreach, and information to family members and Sailors.  The Navy Family Readiness System is implemented as directed by OPNAVINST 1754.1B and DoDI 1342.22.

While Deputy, Chief of Naval Operations (MPT&E) is responsible for program policy of Fleet and Family Support programs, Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) is responsible for program resourcing and delivery of all Family Readiness Programs, the Family Readiness Office within Total Sailor Fitness Office (N170) provides program policies and oversight of these programs.  The primary mission of the Fleet and Family Support Program (FFSP) is to support Navy leadership in achieving maximum mission readiness.  Commands, Sailors and family members access a wide range of programs, focused on adaptation to the special demands of military careers and military family life, such as:
