Surface Combat Systems Enlisted Community is comprised of Electronics Technicians (ET), Fire Controlman (FC), Fire Controlman AEGIS Weapons Systems (FCA), Gunner's Mate (GM), Interior Communications Electrician (IC) and Surface Sonar Technician Rates (STG).  All are considered the technical experts in the maintenance and repair of the NAVY's Communications, Weapons and Combat System suites.  If it flies above our decks, moves beneath our hulls or floats on the surface, these Sailors ensure we can detect, identify and engage it!

Surface Operations Enlisted Community is comprised of Boatswain's Mates (BM), Quartermaster (QM), Operations Specialist (OS), Mineman (MN), LCAC, Navy Harbor Pilots and S-PACT (SN).  This Community provides Global support to the NAVY Sea and Shore infrastructures. They do this through a myriad of tasks that may include: Navigation, Command and Control in Theater Operations, Strategic & Tactical implementation of all Shipboard Weapons and Sensors in offensive and defensive operations. Additionally, detection and deterrence of minefields and water space superiority. All aspects of shipboard preservation, lifesaving equipment, ceremonial functions and top-side deck watch standing are included.
