The Corrections and Programs Office (PERS-00D), serves as the principle authority and resource for Navy offender management (shore and afloat), transient personnel unit (TPU) and regional restricted barracks (RRB) programs; manages the Navy non-distributable personnel inventory consisting of prisoners, parolees, appellants, deserters and transients. PERS-00D represents the Navy to major commands, Service components, Secretarial Clemency and Parole Boards, DoD, and State and Federal agencies for offender management and TPU programs.
PERS-00D provides policy, oversight, audit and program management ensuring compliance with State and Federal requirements that govern deserter apprehension, Transient Personnel Units (TPU), Navy military correctional facilities (MCF), afloat confinement, Navy detention facilities, correctional data management, offender transfer and transport and the Navy Appellate Leave Activity (NAMALA).
