Due to the special skills and extensive training required to become a member of the submarine and nuclear officer communities, a variety of special pay programs have been developed for eligible personnel. These pay initiatives include:

Signing a Contract
**Known DFAS Issue: Due to DFAS system limitations, COBO payments at the new, higher rates are being deposited in two payments. The first deposit occurs on the contract anniversary date and the second deposit occurs several days after. If you do not receive your full amount within a week of your anniversary date, please contact PERS-42MP.**

Officers should draft a COBO request letter (new and replacement templates below) and email a signed copy to PERS-42MP or their detailer. Officers signing their first contact also need a command endorsement (example in templates below).
