Twice a year, the Navy holds an administrative board called TRANSFER-REDESIGNATION Board for active duty officers to redesignate into another community.  These boards are typically held in February and August.  Officers interested in redesignating into Public Affairs may visit the Active Duty Transfer/Redesignation page for additional information.

 
Current requirements for candidates are listed in the current year letter of instruction.
 
Lateral transfer candidates for Public Affairs now require interview appraisals via a quarterly interview panel.  Contact the PAO OCM at 901-874-3098 to be scheduled for the next available panel.


During the lateral transfer board, officers may request lateral transfer into the Public Affairs community.  For specifics on community need in terms of year groups, quotas and additional requirements please contact the PAO Community Manager at 901 874 3098.
