**NEW**   Individual Augmentees (IA's) are on TDY orders (NOT PCS) and therefore DO NOT qualify for frocking.
 

**TWO FREQUENT ERRORS**

1. Officer frocking requests cannot be accepted or approved by PERS-80 until AFTER the Senate confirms the President's promotion nominations.  Nomination results can be checked on the Congress.gov website:

2. MUST be either: Serving in a permanent change of station (PCS) billet for the higher grade or; ordered to a permanent change of station (PCS) billet for the higher grade and already have DETACHED from the previous position.  Additionally, the officer with the permanent change of station orders shall begin serving in the position of the higher grade within 60 days.  The effective date CANNOT be in advance of the detaching date.

ALL officer frocking must be approved by Navy Personnel Command (NAVPERSCOM). Active Duty requests are submitted to PERS-806, Reserve Requests are submitted to PERS-92.
