Lateral Transfer/Redesignation to AEDO (1510)

Officers interested in redesignating to the AEDO Community should visit the BUPERS-3 Transfer/Redesignation webpage for general information and procedures relative to lateral transfer/redesignation boards.

   - 
Source Communities. Officers will be considered from the URL aviation designator (13XX). 
   - Degree/Requirements. Selection is not based upon degree alone, however, technical and business undergraduate degrees are preferred with graduate level degrees in technical, systems engineering, technical management, and business being highly desired. Additionally, officers with acquisition experience or who graduated from TPS are highly desired. Officers seeking lateral transfer into the AEDO community are strongly encouraged to contact the AEDO Community Manager prior to applying in order to discuss critical career milestone requirements, ADOS, and AvB.  
   - Warfare Qualifications. Officers must be aviation warfare qualified officers (pilot or NFO). A minimum of 36 months of fleet sea duty experience is preferred. 
   - Clearance Requirements. Secret. 
   - Additional requirements. Aviation officers (13XX) are eligible and may apply for 1510 (only) regardless of ADSO if they are a graduate of USN TPS Class 166 or Class 167. 
   - TS/SCI SSO Letter and Overseas Screening documents are not required for AEDO applications.
