AZ Community.  There are plenty of sea duty jobs available for AZ1 and shore duty jobs for AZ2 / AZ3.  If you are entering your PRD window talk to your CCC to discuss career goals and contact me.
AE Community.  Multiple sea duty jobs available for AEC and overall not enough shore duty billets for all pay grades.  If you are entering your PRD window talk to your CCC and contact me.
AO Community.  There have been many conversions into the rate.  If you are new conversion, contact me directly to discuss your next set of orders. 

Below are a few items to consider when you enter your negotiation window:
- Sea/Shore rotation is a key element for career diversity and progression
- Communication is important before and during the negotiation process
 - Apply for jobs in My Navy Assignments, be flexible.

General note:   Please understand that NAVADMIN 226/12 requires all detailers to fill all advertised jobs each month.; that means if you are anywhere from 12 months to six months within your PRD we can cut you orders. Another note is concerning extensions, if you plan on extending at your current command you have to route a 1306 request prior to coming into your negotiating window. You are considered in excess if you are within 12 months of your PRD and you have to negotiate orders. Also the minimum requirements to transfer are found in MILPERSMAN 1306-106, i.e. minimum of 12 months needed until EAOS for sea duty, 24 months to shore duty.  If you are retiring or separating within two years you may transfer and if you have been in a location for more than two tours you will be most likely moving to a new location. Ensure your EFM statuses are updated as required before negotiating orders as well. Remember detailers are here for the Sailors and will help you the best we can following our directives and guidance.

AS FTS Community:  Currently this rate has very limited jobs. I continue to try different avenues to help everyone’s career out the best I can. Please be open to all possibilities especially spouse colocations.

AM FTS Community:  Jobs have been very limited lately because we are at 100% manned and standing up new commands. Currently there is a need for C-130 and C40 experience but I have very limited billets at these commands. I am trying to keep the talent with the platforms the best I can.

AWF FTS Community: Currently the most undermanned NEC’s in our community is G25A (C-130FE) and G16A (C-40 CC).  There currently very limited billets in the Fleet for Loadmasters. If you are in your negotiation window it is highly likely that you may be selected to these platforms’ even if you are currently not in that platform.  All highly motivated E-5s that are approaching their negotiation window should consider these NEC’s.  Additionally, at this time there will be no approved extensions or retours for Loadmasters. 
SDIP has been approved for AWF E-6/E-7's with the NEC G25a.  In order to be eligible a 1306 shall be submitted 16-14 months prior to your current PRD.  There are currently two types of SDIP (SDIP-E and SDIP-B).  SDIP-E (Extension) and SDIP-B (Back to Back Sea Duty) can be submitted up to a max of 48 months.  Payouts will be paid in lump sum the month after your current PRD for SDIP-E and the month after you check into your next command for SDIP-B.

Failure to OBLISERV for orders will result in a DIFCREW Revocation IAW BUPERSINST 1326.4.

AD FTS Community: Conversions into the AD community will be sent if approved to AD "A" school in Pensacola, FL upon reenlistment into the FTS community.  Once at the A school the Sailor will go through the first portion of the school which is the core basics.  Upon completion of core, the Sailor will be given a "strand" class.  This strand class will determine the platform that the Sailor will serve in upon completion of A school.  The three strands are helicopter, jet and turbo-props.  The A school will then send the detailer a graduation roster informing the detailer to what platform orders should be written to.  The Sailor’s ultimate duty station will be determined by the needs of the Navy and may not be known until the final week of the strand.

General Comment:  All 1306 request should be submitted 13-15 months prior to your current PRD. If you’re submitting a 1306 for back to back Sea duty, then the request shall be submitted before entering your negotiating window.  PRD extensions will only be approved for 12 months.

AT Community:  Please expect to plan for schools in route to your next command.  Most AT billets are NEC specific.  Please continue to monitor My Navy Assignment cycles and bid on any billets within your pay grade that may interest you.  If you have any questions do not hesitate to call or email me.

PR Community:  The PR Community is very small.  There are several billets that need to be filled.  Please keep in mind when bidding on My Navy Assignment cycles, the jobs that are advertised need to be filled before new jobs will populate.  Please call or email me with any questions or concerns.    

AME Community:  AME billets are very limited.  Continue to monitor My Navy Assignment cycles for available billets.  Please call or email me with any questions or comments.

General Comment:  If you are within a month of your negotiation window, monitor My Navy Assignment closely for an idea of what billets might be available.  If you are currently in your negotiation window, please bid on jobs advertised on My Navy Assignment cycles.  If you are in a “needs of the Navy” status and have had no jobs to bid on, please contact me so that we may discuss your options for one more look.  If you are “needs of the Navy” and did not bid on available jobs, you need to contact me as soon as possible.  Must-fill jobs will be filled each cycle.  Please know when you are in your negotiation window as it is your career.
