Official Military Personnel File Updates

FITREPS
Officer Fitness Reports must show day-for-day continuity.  However, boards will accept minimal gaps, as long as they are less than 90 days.  FITREP continuity can be verified through BOL and NSIPS.  A full overview of how to view your record and make corrections can be found on the OMFP-My Record section of this site.  Corrections should be made through PERS-32.

AWARDS
Personal awards are reviewed and briefed during Statutory and Administrative selection boards.  They often provide additional information that may, or may not, have been addressed in FITREPS.  As with FITREPs it is the officer's responsibility to ensure there OMPF reflects a true record of awards received.  On occasion the NDAWS database and an officer's OMPF conflict.  For board purposes the OMPF record is the dictating authority.  See Awards-Decorations-Medals section of this site to determine how to update errors in your OMPF.  PERS-313 is the department with overview on correcting awards in your OMPF.

OFFICIAL PHOTOGRAPH
MILPERSMAN 1070-180 requires that all officer records contain a full length color photo in the officer's current grade.  Official photos are submitted on NAVPERSFORM 1070/884.  The form must be mailed to PERS-3 for inclusion in your permanent record.

EDUCATION
Graduate education is directly linked to Navy subspecialty codes.  Like AQDs these codes provide more insight into the unique skills acquired by individual officers.  Upon graduation from a Master's Degree program you should verify that the education section of you OMPF is updated.  Corrections/Updates can be made through PERS-45E.

Additional Qualification Designators
AQDs are used to denote special qualifications you have obtained in your career.  These qualifications are an important for documenting your achievements and provide Selection Board members with a more specified view of your record.  AQDs show up in two places: at the bottom of your Performance Summary Record (PSR) cover page, and in the far right column of your Officer Data Card (ODC).  Summarized below are important EOD associated AQDs.  A full listing of all AQDs can be found in the NOOCs Manual.
