DLA Aviation supporting Navy's RAST system
Eric Petran (far left), head of the Technical Support Division at the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility in Hawaii, poses for a photo at the shipyard with Moraima Lugo-Millán, chemist, DLA Aviation’s Engineering Directorate’s Hazardous Minimization and Green Products Branch. The Navy is working with Defense Logistics Agency Aviation in Richmond, Virginia to provide a green/sustainable alternative to maintaining the Recovery Assist, Secure and Traverse system’s plate coating on all Arleigh Burke class ships. The RAST uses a cart to safely secure the aircraft to the ship’s deck and transfer them to the hangar bay.
