Jacket, Black Relax Fit

a.  Description

A black single-breasted jacket with a zipper front closure, two inverted slant pockets, and shoulder epaulets, made of 55% polyester/45% wool and water resistant fabric.  Its design also includes a stand-up knit collar, knit cuffs and bottom.  The black relax fit jacket is a UNISEX sizing component authorized for wear by male and female Sailors (Figure 3501.30-1).

b.  Correct Wear

Wear squarely on the shoulders.  Close zipper at least 3/4 of the way.  May be worn with inner liner.  Rank insignia is worn 3/4 of an inch from the end of the left and right epaulet.  For specific placement of officer insignia refer to article 4103, CPOs refer to article 4213 and E1-E6 Sailors refer to article 4227.  Patches and nametags are not authorized for wear on jackets.

c.  Ownership Markings (Optional for Officers/CPOs) 

Surname, first initial and middle initial (if applicable) inside on the manufacturer’s tag.

Note 

The jacket is authorized for wear in lieu of the SDB Coat for daily wear to and from work, in public places and for attending working level meetings/briefings.  The jacket is not authorized to substitute wear of the SDB coat for ceremonies, high-level meetings/briefings, or when conducting business on Capitol Hill.
