Personnel Exchange Program
The Personnel Exchange Program (PEP) provides for a one-for-one exchange between the United States (U.S.) Navy and personnel from other military services, including foreign services. The program objective is to integrate participants into the host organization as though they belonged to the service to which they are assigned, while adhering to applicable technology transfer and classified information disclosure restrictions. As these billets become available they will show up on My Navy Assignments (MNA).
NATO
The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is an alliance of 28 countries from North America and Europe committed to fulfilling the goals of the North Atlantic Treaty signed on
4 April 1949. It provides a unique link between these two continents for consultation and cooperation in the field of defense and security, and the conduct of multinational crisis management operations.
NATO is committed to the peaceful resolution of disputes. If diplomatic efforts fail, it has the military capacity needed to undertake crisis management operations. These are carried out under Article 5 of the Washington Treaty and/or under a UN mandate, alone or in cooperation with other countries and international organizations.
Flag Staff
Flag or staff duty provides the opportunity to work at one of the various COCOM (combatant commander) commands. The largest percentage of billets presently established within these special activities are for the YN, IT, IS and CT ratings (pay grades E-4 thru E-8).
