Notes from the GM Detailing Team My Navy Assignment Contact the MNA Help Desk 12 months prior your PRD to have your account enabled. After 30 days of no activity, your MNA account will be disabled. Update your contact information on MNA. Updating your contact information will enable your Detailer to communicate more effectively with you while negotiating for orders. You may submit up to 7 applications each cycle while in your negotiation window (6-12 months prior to your PRD). You MUST apply for billets in your paygrade only, there is NO MORE "one up, one down." Please note that NAVADMIN 231/17 requires Detailers to fill requisitions with qualified Sailors, even if it is during a Sailor’s first month of negotiations. Open Billets The OPEN billets posted on MNA is what is available to be applied for. There are no other billets available during the cycle, so please do not call the detailers asking for other billets. Direct Detail If you are coming off LIMDU, HUMS, or recieved a MSG stating you are outside of your window on MNA to contact your detailer. Shore Special Programs Recruiting duty and service as a RDC offer great opportunities for top performing surface combat systems Sailors. Benefits include extra pay, command advancement opportunities and college attendance while in uniform during working hours. Contact your detailer 12 months out from your PRD to negotiate for shore Special Programs billets. You MUST be released to Shore Special Programs by your rating detailer. A secret security clearance is required for all special program assignments (sea and shore). Overseas Screenings Overseas screening must be completed promptly. Sailors are allowed 30 days, while family members have 60 days, to complete screening requirements. Refer to NAVADMIN 203/14. Spouse Collocation Spouse Collocation does not guarantee a specific geographic area. Refer to MILPERSMAN 1306-1000 in verifying your eligibility. Increased Distribution Authority guidance is discussed in NAVADMIN 156/18. Correspondence with your Detailer To minimize the volume of calls/emails, review the GM LaDR, have a discussion with your Chief/Career Counselor for assistance regarding your career intentions. If there are questions they cannot answer, call your detailer. Additionally, please do not call and ask for a "hook up" to stay in the geographical location you are in or desire to PCS to. When leaving a voicemail for your detailer, speak clearly and slowly, make sure you leave your name and contact number! Geographical Locations We are a world wide force and can be deployed around the world. Be prepared to change geographical location throughout your career! Discuss with your Chief prior to making major purchases (house, car, etc.) at the end of your prescribed tour. We do not recommend you make major purchases at the end of a tour since there are no guarantees you will stay in the geographical location. 1306 Submission All 1306's must be routed via askmncc@navy.mil.
