Female E1-E6 Combination Cover
a. Description. (1) Unisex, Combination Cap A military style cap with black visor, rigid standing front, flaring circular rim and black cap band worn with detachable khaki or white cap cover, as required (figures 3501.9-1 and 3501.9-2). For hat band insignia/ornamentation, see articles 4311 for officers and 4321 for CPOs. (2) Female, Combination Cap (Bucket) A military style cap with black visor, circular brim with rigid upsweep sides and black cap band worn with detachable white or khaki cap cover, as required. When wearing an all-weather coat, a clear plastic combination cap rain cover may be worn. For hat band insignia/ornamentation, see articles 4311 for officers and 4321 for CPOs. b. Correct Wear. (1) Unisex, Combination Cap a. Wear squarely on the head, with bottom edge parallel to and 1-1/2 inch above the eyebrows. b. Wear white cover with Dinner Dress, Full Dress, Service Dress, and Summer White uniforms. Wear khaki cover with Service Khaki uniform. When wearing an all-weather coat or black Cold Weather Parka, a clear plastic combination cap rain cover may be worn. For insignia/ornamentation, see articles 4311 for officers, 4321 for CPOs, and 4331 for E6 and below. (2) Female Combination Cap (Bucket) a. Wear squarely on the head, with bottom edge parallel to and 1-1/2 inch above the eyebrows. b. Optional wear is authorized for female Sailors E1 through O10 with Full Dress, Service Dress, Dinner Dress, and Dinner Dress Jacket Uniforms (figures 3501.9-3 and figure 3501.4). Additionally, female officers and CPOs are authorized optional wear of the Bucket with Service Khaki and Summer White uniforms. Optional wear is not authorized when the Unisex combination cover is prescribed (Effective 20 May 2024).
