CTTs perform a variety of duties worldwide at numerous overseas and stateside shore commands aboard surface ships, aircraft, and submarines. Duties include performing collection, analysis, and reporting on communication signals using computers, specialized computer-assisted communications equipment, video display terminals, and electronic/magnetic tape recorders.

Electronic Warfare – Warfare Tactics Instructor
 

IW WTIs are trained to be tactical advisors and instructors on blue capability, red capability, and the clash of the two in high-end warfare. IW personnel suitable for nomination should be top performers in their specialty, who regularly demonstrate tactical excellence, superior briefing and/or instructor skills, and possess an innate drive to support and guide the fleet's development.

Nominating command POCs must coordinate with detailers and the gaining command to resolve potential timing conflicts whenever possible.

Military ELINT Signals Analysis Program (MESAP) / Military OPELINT Signals Analysis Program


NSA intern programs are challenging three-year programs designed to further develop technical and managerial skills of qualified middle and senior enlisted personnel through advanced training by the national cryptologic university (NCU) and a series of individually tailored assignments at the national security agency (NSA). Upon completion, sailors will generally be detailed to a follow-on national sea or shore assignment in which they will utilize learned skills. Nominees must possess a service record that clearly demonstrates sustained superior technical expertise. Must have completed a polygraph prior to acceptance of PCS orders. Specific guidance will be provided SEPCOR via applicable FY Call for Military Internship Nominations message.

Sailors interested in applying to the MESAP/MOSAP program must be released by their Detailer at least 15 months prior to entering their PRD negotiation window and PRD must be IAW annual message.
