CTMs perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical and electronic cryptologic and ancillary systems used for communications, analysis, monitoring, tracking, recognition and identification, electronic attack, and physical security; install, test, troubleshoot, repair, or replace cryptologic networks, physical security systems, electronic equipment, antennas, personal computers, auxiliary equipment, digital and optical interfaces, and data systems; configure, monitor, and evaluate Information Operations (IO), Information Warfare (IW) systems, and Information Assurance (IA) in support of national and fleet tasking; manage mission organizational level maintenance; coordinate repair of command, control, communications, computer, and intelligence systems; and prepare reports and inventories of equipment.

Sea Duty Incentive Pay (SDIP) is an incentive paid to CTMs E-4 through E-6 to voluntarily remain on Sea Duty past their Prescribed Sea Tour (PST), curtail their current Shore Duty and return early to Sea Duty, or do a back-to-back Sea tour of 12 to 48 months. All SDIP payments are made in a lump sum with the current SDIP incentive level of $700 per month for eligible E-4/5s and $800 per month for eligible E-6s. Example: CTM1 SDIP-B (back-to-back) for 48 months will receive $38,400.
Special Duty Assignment Pay (SDAP) is a monthly pay used to help obtain high-quality personnel for designated Special Duty Assignments. C27A CTMs in UICs 43457 (NIOC HI) and 47685 (NIOD CT) are eligible for SDAP at the following levels: Team Leaders get SD-4 $300 per month, and Maintenance Supervisors get SD-2 $150 per month.
Assignment Incentive Pay (AIP) is a monthly pay used to incentivize arduous Sea tours. AIP up to $550 per month is currently being offered to C27A CTM2 billets in UICs 43457 (NIOC HI) and 47685 (NIOD CT)
