Navy Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCACs) are the cornerstone of amphibious warfare. Operated by an all-enlisted crew, these $23 million vessels deliver Marine Air-Ground Task Force assault elements along with transportation of personnel, weaponry, equipment, and cargo traversing shoreline to inland objectives.
LCAC CRAFTMASTER(NEC-800A)- Open to ALL ratings in paygrades E7 to E9. LCAC ENGINEER/ASSISTANT OPERATOR(NEC-800E)- Open to ALL ratings in paygrades E5 to E7. LCAC NAVIGATOR(NEC-800C)- Open to ALL ratings in paygrades E5 to E7. LCAC LOADMASTER(NEC-800B)- Open to ALL ratings in paygrades E3 to E6. DECK ENGINEER(NEC-800D)-Open to ALL ratings in paygrades E3 to E6.
All positions are open to females. You must apply prior to entering your MyNavyAssignment (MNA) 12-month window. Contact your rating detailer and the program lead detailer listed below for more information. Only Craftmaster, Engineer, and Navigator are currently eligible for Special Duty Assignment Pay. Currently only ACU-4, 5, and NBU-7 crew members receive Sea Pay while embarked. Initial prescribed sea tours (PSTs) are 5 years for ACU-4 & 5 and NBU-7 is 2 years unaccompanied and 3 years accompanied.

Craftmaster, Engineer, and Navigator Formal training is conducted at EWTGLANT Little Creek, VA. or EWTGPAC Coronado, CA for approximately three months concurrently followed by two months of advanced training at ACU-4 or ACU-5. Deck Engineer and Loadmaster Formal training is conducted at ACU-4 or ACU-5 for approximately two months.
