Permanent Military Instructor Program
The Permanent Military Instructor Program seeks active-duty officers selected for or in the permanent grade of Lieutenant Commander. These officers may be unrestricted line, Information Warfare community, or warfare qualified officers in the designators 1200, 1440, 1460, 1510, 1710, and 5100. Those selected for the program shall serve as faculty at the United States Naval Academy until statutory retirement or selection for O-5.
Applicants should hold a relevant Master’s degree for the area of teaching sought after. A limited number of opportunities to complete a relevant graduate degree will be offered, based upon USNA demand signal.

Community Managers will manage which year groups are eligible to participate and the individual community obligations. Applicants are encouraged to discuss their potential eligibility with their Officer Community Manager.

In addition to the application requirements set in OPNAVINST 1520.40C, applicants must also submit an official photo, Performance Summary Report, Officer Summary Record, and their last five Fitness Reports. Applications must be received by 01 November 2024.
