OPNAVINST 1754.8 is the current version of this instruction.
Family readiness is a key element of overall mission readiness and essential for families to meet the obligations and challenges of Navy life. Fleet and family Support Centers (FFSC) support individual Sailor and family readiness as well as adaptation to life in the Navy for Service members and their families. There are 81 FFSCs across the globe with 57 providing a full range of services. With the increased focus on military families being a key element to mission readiness and Sailor retention, services have expanded to better support members and their families through increased individual assistance and consultation, more varied educational programs, more proactive outreach, and delivery of family support services in locations most conducive to family member engagement.
