This page will be continually updated with ongoing and archived surveys being conducted through the Survey Program Office. As approved surveys are closed, this page can serve as a resource to find similar surveys previously conducted and hopefully reduce future data collection requirements. 2021 Sea Shore Flow Replacement Survey
Survey Description
The Navy plans on replacing Sea Shore Flow with a new policy that will better man the Fleet and reward Sailors for assignment to high value jobs on sea duty. For some Sailors, in the more sea-centric ratings, this will mean longer total time spent on sea duty along with more opportunities for advancement into new assignments, enhanced monetary and expanded non-monetary incentives. For individual commands, this will mean sustained higher manning levels, not just prior to deployment, but throughout the entire at home (maintenance and training) cycle. This survey is your opportunity to provide Navy leadership with your input in the development of the new Detailing Marketplace Assignment Policy.  
2020 NSIPS Customer Satisfaction Survey ​This survey is designed to assess satisfaction among NSIPS administrators and provide the NSIPS project office with feedback and preferences to inform sustainment and redesign efforts.
2019 US Naval Community College Survey ​This survey is designed to obtain Fleet feedback and preferences regarding academic programs that could be offered at the US Naval Community College towards the completion of an associate's degree. 
2018 Education for Seapower Survey ​On April 19, the Under Secretary of the Navy directed a clean sheet review of the naval education enterprise.  As part of this ongoing study, is being used to collect expert opinions from officers in the Navy and Marine Corps and faculty members at naval institutions about the current state of naval education and ways to improve it for the future.
2018 PERS-4 Sailor Experience Survey ​The purpose of this survey is to provide quality assurance and Sailor feedback on PERS-4 Detailer and Placement Coordinator performance. The results of the survey will be used for internal purposes to improve the quality of PERS-4 customer experience.
2018 PERS-4 Climate Survey ​This survey was conducted in Max.Gov by PERS-4 to gain feedback from the PERS-4 workforce on working conditions and organizational climate. Ideally, this will further inform development of a similar tool to be more broadly used in the Navy coaching process.
2018 Manpower Systems Analysis Curriculum Review Survey ​This survey was conducted using Max.Gov to gather feedback from recent graduates of the Manpower Systems Analysis curriculum at Naval Postgraduate School.
2017-2018 Career Development Symposium Surveys ​A variety of data collection tools were used to facilitate the Career Development Symposium (CDS) events in San Diego and Japan. Participants at both events were asked to register for the survey using PollEverywhere. In addition to gathering information on the attendees, the survey also provided some insight into why participants attended and what they hoped to gain from CDS. PollEverywhere was also used for audience participation during CDS. An Exit Survey was conducted using Max.Gov after the conclusion of each Symposium. While the primary goal of this instrument was to gain feedback from CDS participants, it also was used as an opportunity to identify issues of importance to Navy personnel that will shape future CDS events.
2018 Personal and Professional Choices Survey ​This survey has been conducted biennially since 1988 to gain a better understanding of Sailors’ reproductive opinions, beliefs, and behaviors. The survey satisfies the requirement in SECNAVINST 1000.10 to evaluate the effectiveness of Department of the Navy (DoN) pregnancy and parenthood policies. The range of issues addressed in the survey include policy awareness and implementation, leadership support, family planning attitudes, birth control practices, access to medical services, and pregnancy rates. The survey was developed and administered using the Max.Gov survey software. It was open for data collection from January 16 to February 27, 2018.
2018 Integrated Bridge Control Systems Survey ​Recommendation 7.3.10 of the Comprehensive Review of Recent Surface Force incidents required NAVSEA to survey ships with integrated Bridge systems for feedback and lessons learned with results due by 31 March 2018. OPNAV N1 assisted with development and fielding of the survey instrument using the Verint Survey Software. Bridge watchstanders and senior leadership from across the fleet were asked to participate in the survey. The survey was open for approximately four weeks between January and February 2018. The resulting database included 1,563 completed surveys and 315 partials. Data was provided to NAVSEA for analysis.
2017 New Sailor Survey ​This survey effort is conducted by Navy Recruiting Command and Naval Service Training Command. While designed to be on-going, the data collection has been on hold since October 2017 because of technical difficulties. The purpose of this questionnaire is to collect information concerning the recruiting process and Delayed Entry Program (DEP) of the United States Navy. The survey is conducted with new recruits
2016 Behavioral Health Quick Poll ​The Behavioral Health Quick Poll (BHQP), completed every other year, is designed to determine the level of stress in the Navy; the sources of stress; the means of navigating stress; understanding of OSC and suicide prevention principles; and attitudes towards seeking help. The results of the survey are used to better inform program policies, training curriculum, and future research.
