The Workforce Classification Department manages the establishment, disestablishment, consolidation, and revision of Navy Enlisted Classification (NEC), Designator (DESIG), Subspecialty (SSP), Navy Officer Billet Classification (NOBC), Additional Qualification Designation (AQD), and Navy Enlisted Billet Classifications (NEBCs); Executive Secretary for the Navy Enlisted Occupational Classification System (NEOCS) and the Navy Officer Occupational Classification System (NOOCS) Boards; update Occupational Standards (OCCSTDs) and Naval Standards (NAVSTDs); and conducts enlisted rating mergers/commonality/feasibility studies (as requested).
