Detailing (NAVADMIN 231/17)
There are significant changes to My Navy Assignment and the process to how Sailors are selected for billets as advertised on My Navy Assignment. It is critical that you understand the new selection process. Please note that NAVADMIN 231/17 requires Detailers to fill requisitions with qualified Sailors, even if it is during a Sailor’s first window of negotiations.
---Negotiation windows start in EVEN months. (June, August, October, December) If your PRD is in an odd month (May, July, September), your negotiation window begins the next even month AFTER your PRD.

Spouse Collocation (MILPERSMAN 1300-1000)
IAW MILPERSMNA 1300-1000, detailers have 11 months from documenting colocation on both members record to collocate members to their spouse. Colocation is based on the sea going sailor’s geographical location. The spouse going to shore duty will be collocated to the sea going sailor.
Spouse Collocation does not guarantee a specific geographic area. A CO endorsed 1306/7 from both you and your spouse’s Commanding Officer are required. Refer to MILPERSMAN 1300-1000 in verifying your eligibility.
SDIP/VSDP Requests (MILPERSMAN 1306-141)
Requests are required to be submitted PRIOR to entering your order negotiation window. Be sure to include which program, benefit and amount of months that you’re applying for on your 1306/7.

Diesel Engine Inspector (DEI)
Become a distinguished member of the Engineman community by joining those at the height of our rating. DEI’s enjoy Special Duty Assignment Pay (SDAP) and a Selective Reenlistment Bonus (SRB). If you’re interested, first, contact your friendly neighborhood DEI for sponsorship. Once you get a sponsor, email ENCM Tompkins at cyle.j.tompkins.mil@us.navy.mil. He will put you on the groom list. The DEI course is now open for eligible E-6 candidates. Program requirements are outlined in OPNAVIST 9220.3 series and the latest NEC Manual.
Being on the groom list DOES NOT guarantee location or billet. Update your MNA preferences and resume to keep your detailer updated on your career intentions.

Top Snipes

Top Snipes are always in demand. They may be entitled to Special Duty Assignment Pay (SDAP) and/or Special Duty Incentive Pay (SDIP) at the E8-E9 levels. Contact your Detailer today to discuss these options.
