Due to lack of NC conversions, our roller inventory has significantly decreased, and billets need to be filled, especially overseas (Japan & Guam). Therefore, VSDPs are currently being considered for the NC1 paygrade PRIOR to entering their negotiating window.
*** Update on Sea Duty Incentive Pay (SDIP) : Due to tremendous gaps at Sea, SDIP-E (Extension) will only be entertained for 12 months. SDIP-B (Back to Back) will only be entertained for a DIFFERENT Sea tour, NOT retour of current Command. ***
Convertees to the Navy Counselor Rating need to understand “initial assignment” is based upon requisition priorities and therefore all current Convertees can expect their 1st NC Tour to be a FULL Sea Tour regardless of current tour of duty.
In accordance with NAVADMIN 274/19 and current Sea Shore Flow Tour Lengths/ Notes, Navy Career Counselors transition to the NC community after completing at least one sea tour in their initial community. Sailors can expect sea tour lengths of up to 42 months (Sea Tour 3).
In accordance with the Legalman Enlisted Career Path, the LN rating is a CONUS/OCONUS rating. Therefore OCONUS Staff (not embarked on a Flagship), RLSO, DSO, OSTC billets are considered sea duty for Sea/Shore Rotation purposes including Hawaii.
COMMAND CAREER COUNSELOR COURSE
*** New Process for Requesting a Command Career Counselor Course Quota - as of 6 Jan 2025 ***
- Commands will complete and submit the Command CCC Request template (below) with all required enclosures and submit the package it to their ISIC for review, endorsement, and forwarding to their Respective TYCOM (only those authorized below).
- If a Waiver is needed (ASVAB or Rotation), adjust the request with the data in the template and submit.
- If the ISIC is the TYCOM, then follow step 2 in the process.
- Once received by the TYCOM, if approved, TYCOM will submit their Endorsement (below) to the Rating Detailer along with the package for a quota reservation. *** EMAIL TO DETAILER SHOULD CONTAIN 2 ATTACHMENTS!! TYCOM Endorsement & Command CC Request ***
- Once the Quota Request is received by the Detailer from the TYCOM, pending availability, a confirmation will be sent of the Course request via email for the TYCOM to forward to ISIC for Command notification.
*** WAIVERS will only be entertained for up to 9 points for ASVAB and up to 6 months for Rotation (18 months remaining onboard) ***
