CMSID has gone away and changed to My Navy Assignments (MNA). Sailors are now detailed into “jobs” under My Navy Assignments vice “billets” under CMSID. Some changes are that Sailors will have the “option” to choose 7 different jobs vice the 5 billets in what was CMSID. What does that mean for you and your Sailors, if you have the option to select 7 different jobs and choose to select 3 jobs, they run the risk of being detailed to their 4th choice – anything the detailer has available. Sailors will be able to see everything the detailer can see – what’s available and what’s not available. Please ensure you are having a conversation with your Sailors to ensure they are not “waiting” for a job to become available and requesting all 7 jobs they can.
Paygrades E1-E4 are all considered 1 paygrade for distribution purposes. You may only apply to billets advertised in your current/frocked paygrade.
Ensure your personal contact information is up-to-date in MyNavy Assignment (MNA), this information is used by the system to send out notifications on selections and what Detailers utilize to contact Sailors.
Notes from the YN Detailing Team
• All billets advertised on MNA must be filled each cycle, detailers may be required to select Sailors who have not applied for assignment or those early in their negotiation window. Detailers will attempt to fill all billets using a Sailor's desired selections first, however, fleet readiness requirements will ultimately be the driving factor in the Sailor's assignment.
• Familiarize yourself with NAVADMIN 274/19 (YN Sea/Shore Flow).
• Sailors interested in Special Programs or High School Stabilization Programs MUST inform their detailers 15-13 months prior to their PRD. Sailors who are in their negotiating window will not be released to special programs or be approved for High School Stabilization programs.
• Apply for DEVGRU and NSWDG flyer
***Commands should visit Placement Management (PERS-4013) for questions regarding billets advertised on MNA***
