Professional Flight Instructor

The purpose of the Professional Flight Instructor (PFI) Board is to provide 1310 and 1320 officers the opportunity to continue serving as Professional Flight Instructors beyond the Department Head milestone as an alternative to the traditional Naval Aviation Sea/Shore rotational career path.  The PFI Program is an integral part of managing the talents of Naval Aviators, especially those who wish to remain in flight instructor roles.  This program provides flexibility in officer community manning and improves the return on investment from aviation training by leveraging the fleet experience and instructional skillsets of officers throughout their careers. For further program information, email the program manager, CDR Adam "Roloff" Jackson.
