The Mission of the Performance Evaluations Branch is to support the Navy’s objectives of selecting and detailing only the best and most fully qualified individuals to positions of increased trust and responsibility. This branch ensures that the performance portion of the Official Military Personnel File (OMPF) is accurate and up-to-date.
To achieve this objective, enlisted performance evaluations and officer fitness reports are examined, corrected, supplemented, amended, removed and added to the Master Data File as directed by the Secretary of the Navy.

NAVFIT98A V33 AVAILABILITY and UTILITY NAVADMIN 159/25 "This NAVADMIN announces the release of NAVFIT98A version 33 (NAVFIT98A v33) for all Navy performance evaluations and fitness reports." 4. CHIEFEVAL NAVFIT98A Version 33 CHIEFEVAL User Guide 5. PERS-32 is receiving a high number of reports with the Signature of Reporting Senior and Signature of individual evaluated not IAW BUPERSINST 1610.10H CH-2, page 1-23, thereby increasing our rejection rate. If unable to obtain the signature of member, rater or senior rater, follow guidance of Chapter 14 (Signatures). Reports missing the reporting senior's signature, will be rejected. Computer generated signatures do not meet the intent of “use black or blue-black ink”. The guidance for signatures stated below: EVAL BLOCK 50 and FITREP/CHIEFEVAL BLOCK 45 (SIGNATURE OF REPORTING SENIOR) The reporting senior whose name appears in block 22 must sign all reports. By direction, for, acting, ghosted, stamped, or facsimile signatures are not allowed. Use black or blue-black ink.

NAVFIT98A v2.2.0.33 PROGRAM/(HELP) REFERENCE DOCUMENTS NAVFIT98A v2.2.0.33 Installation Instructions Published 5 Aug 2025 the steps to follow have not significantly changed for NAVFIT98a v2.2.0.332 (v33 Patch 2) NAVFIT98A v2.2.0.332 (v33 Patch 2) Frequently Asked Questions Published 13 Aug 2026 NAVFIT98A v33 Patch 2 (v332) Database Conversion Tool - Used to convert existing NAVFIT98A v33 database files into a format readable by the NAVFIT98A v33 Patch 2 (v332) software released 8/28/2026. This stand-alone utility utilized MS Access to perform the conversion and should work on any database created by NAVFIT98A v33. The patch prepopulates the new database name with "._v33p2.accdb" at the end but allows the user to change the location and filename to whatever they want. After converting the file, one simply opens the newly created file with the NAVFIT98A v33 Patch 2 version of the software. The original v33 files are retained in their original format. This utility does not currently support importing database files created prior to version 33. Database Conversion Tool can be downloaded from the My Navy Portal website. NAVFIT98A ISSUE WITH VARIED COMPUTER CONFIGURATIONS!!
Because of the varied configurations across the navy, there are certain peripheral programs that may or may not need to be installed. These peripheral pieces of Microsoft software was deployed with NAVFIT98A v 2.2.0.33 and should not need to be uninstalled when installing the newest copy of NAVFIT98A.
