Navy Basic Water Survival Instructor (NEC-808A)
The Navy Basic Swimming and Water Survival Instructor Training Course is designed to provide Instructors with the knowledge and skill necessary to administer the Third, Second and First Class Swim Tests, and to teach Chief of Naval Education and Training Water Survival Courses. Instructors will also receive certification in American Red Cross Lifeguarding, First Aid, Supplemental O2 Administration and CPR for the Professional Rescuer unless currently qualified or in possession of qualification from a nationally recognized organization or its equivalent.
Billets are obtained through My Navy Assignment (MNA) applications under NEC 808A, before applying you must contact your rating detailer to be released to Shore Special Programs. The screening process will include proof of current Security Clearance and second class swim qualification.
