TAR Supply Corps (3107)
The Training and Administration of Reserves (TAR) Supply Corps (SC) 3107 community is considered a critical link between our Active Component (AC) and Reserve Component (RC) counterparts.  TAR SC personnel often serve alongside their 3100 counterparts where they are typically embedded in NAVSUP HQ, NAVSUP GLS, Fleet Logistics Centers, and various Major Commands where significant populations of SC Officers exist. 
The career progression of a TAR SC Officer will typically mirror the career progression of an AC 3100 Officer up to the rank of Lieutenant/O-3. At-Sea operational & non-traditional operational duty for SC JO’s is considered foundational. Career progression at the Lieutenant Commander/O-4 and above level will consist mainly of billets in the reserve management or expeditionary Logistics arenas, with other opportunities in areas of supply chain management and aviation logistics. 
         Valued achievements at all paygrades
  • Sustained superior performance in leadership billets of increasing responsibility and complexity
  • Reserve support –direct support to the reserve component and the management of its programs
  • Fleet support –develop key skillsets to excel as a Supply Corps officer at each grade while supporting the Fleet
        Valued achievements prior to LIEUTENANT COMMANDER
  • Warfare qualification
  • Two OP tours (if accession timeline allows) defined by afloat and/or non-traditional (AQD 928/929 where officer performed workups and deployed with unit providing logistical support – i.e., NMCB, NCHB, NELR, CRG)
        Valued achievements prior to COMMANDER
  •  Experience in Reserve management (e.g. Operational Support Officer or Supply Corps community management) and one Supply Corps competency (subspecialty strongly encouraged)
  • Master’s degree associated with Supply Corps competency (strongly encouraged)
  • JPME I awarded or in progress
         Valued achievements prior to CAPTAIN
  •  Proven ability to lead and direct people and organizations in tough, highly visible, and challenging environments that directly support the mission of the TAR community
  • Diverse experience to include reserve management, supply chain management, expeditionary logistics, and successful performance on a major staff
  • Admin/oral board screening for O5/O6 command (eligible when selected for CDR)

The majority of TAR SC Officers will be accessed into the community via the semi-annual TAR Redesignation Board process where most new accessions will have anywhere from 3-9 years of service.  Most new accessions will be either 3100 AC or 3105 RC Officers.  
Despite the small size of our community, TAR SC Officers make a significant impact to The Supply Corp’s Mission of “delivering sustained global logistics capabilities to the Navy and Joint Warfighter” and  The Mission of The Navy Reserve , “to deliver strategic depth and operational capability to the Navy, Marine Corps, and Joint Forces”.
