Internship Information

SPRING 2022 SC Internships
Billet List
Currently accepting packages for Fall 2022 Internship Screening!
Package submission deadline will be September 30th.

Note: NNPP applications are accepted year round regardless of PRD

The billet list for the Fall 2022 Internship Administrative Screening will not be as robust as cycles prior to 2021.
The Supply Corps’ current officer inventory has required us to limit the quantity of internship billets that will be filled.
This does NOT imply that these billets are not valued.
Internship billets are highly valued, nominative billets that are pertinent to the growth and development of our community.
However, we are currently gapping 75% of internships and LT shore billets to ensure operational and control grade billets are filled.
Every effort is being made to replenish our officer inventory and minimize gaps to all billets, to include internships.

Selection screenings are held in April and October. Applications for NNPP internships are accepted and screened year round. If you are interested in an internship, you are strongly encouraged to submit a package 12 months prior to your PRD. Selections are made based on an officer’s sustained superior performance and billet availability.  Billets will be offered to selected officers based on ranking and PRD.  If selected for a program, you can be assigned to any billet location.  Application packages may be submitted prior to earning a warfare qualification; however, a warfare qualification must be obtained prior to negotiating orders upon selection. Officers accepting orders to an internship must agree to remain on active duty for an additional tour.

Your package must be received no later than the specified deadline for each screening and contain the following:
NOTE: REMOVE PII (i.e., SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER, LAST FOUR OF SSN, DATE OF BIRTH, etc.) FROM ALL DOCUMENTS PRIOR TO SUBMISSION.  DOCUMENTS SHOULD BE SUBMITTED IN ONE PDF IN THE ORDER LISTED BELOW
1. Endorsement letter from Commanding Officer
2. Additional endorsement letters
3. Warfare qualification letter (by time you transfer)
4. All Previous Fitness Reports
5. Other information for consideration
6. College transcripts (NACO internships no longer require 24 business related credit hours)
7. Current ODC, OSR, and PSR

Upon submitting an application, Intern applicants must halt all orders negotiations with the LT Shore detailer and/or the Operational Detailer. Intern applicants who fail to be selected for an internship may begin renegotiating orders upon the intern selection release.

Notification of selection will be via FLASH FROM THE CHIEF.  Billet assignments will be based on a combination of rankings, billet requirements, and Community Interest Lead inputs.  You can expect reassignment on your PRD.  Fleet manning takes priority, you will be rolled to your internship once properly relieved.
