SELRES Staff Corps

The Reserve Officer Community Managers work in support of CNR, CNRFC, and Navy Enterprises to provide accession plans, promotion plans, retention plans, lateral transfer plans, force shaping plans, incentive plans, force modeling and forecasting, community health assessments, strategic-level options, and other analyses that are timely, data-driven, and accurate.

Accession, Affiliation, and Transition between Component Assistance. There are three tracks to affiliate: Direct Commission, Navy Reserve (NR) Change of Designator, and Navy Veteran (NAVET)/Other Service Veteran (OSVET) affiliation.

Direct Commission Officer (DCO) Accession: If you are interested in joining with no prior commissioned service, the first step is to contact a local Navy recruiter at Navy Recruiting District Website.  Ensure the recruiter knows the community you are interested in.  Once you have completed the initial steps towards gaining a commission, a member of the interested designator will contact you to complete the remaining community screening steps.

Change of Designator: If you are already a Naval Reservist, meet the requirements of another community per the Program Authorization, and are interested in transitioning, complete the requirements found on Change of Designator (navy.mil). If you are transitioning from active duty, meet the requirements of another community per the Program Authorization, and are interested in transitioning, discuss with the recruiter working your Reserve placement for additional information and further guidance.

NAVET/OSVET Affiliations: If you are returning or affiliating to the Reserves after a break in service, Recruiters will guide you through the process – helping you whether you qualify as a NAVET (NavyVeteran) or OSVET (Other Service Veteran) or through any of the other related entrance programs.  Contact a recruiter at Navy Recruiting District Website.

If you have questions regarding the Reserve CHC, JAG, PAO or SC programs, please contact the RC Staff Corps OCM.
