RECALL AND LATERAL TRANSFER OPPORTUNITIES FOR READY RESERVE OFFICERS
Reserve officers have many pathways that they can use to return to "extended" active duty status or periods.
These instructions are meant to help Reserve officers determine their best pathway to achieving their career goals.
Unfortunately, each option contains it's own set of eligibility requirements, procedures to apply, references, and points of contact here at Navy Personnel Command.
Please refer to the "Recall Program Decision Matrix" to the right side of this webpage to help explain the various options. Hyperlinks are located to the right side of this webpage to help direct you to the points of contact and more information regarding each option once you review the "Recall Program Decision Matrix".
Please note that this Matrix only introduces those programs and options that result in an "extended" period of active duty. This matrix does not cover Annual Training (AT), Active Duty for Training (ADT), or Mobilization periods, which can also sometimes lead to periods of extended active duty. For these options, refer to your Reserve Unit or NOSC chain of command or to the Commander, Navy Reserve Force website.
Hint: for the Commander Navy Reserve Force website, once you log into the Private Side of the site, click on "Training/Ops" and then click on "Opportunities" to view all current advertised AT, ADT, Mob, and Recall opportunities.
This page DOES NOT address the officer Retire-Retain program. Please select Retire-Retain to view the webpage.
